Credit: WWE.com Credit: WWE.com The blue brand's viewership has trended in the wrong direction since WrestleMania 33 in the aftermath of the "Superstar Shakeup," which seems to have hurt what had consistently been a great SmackDown show after last summer's brand split. Fans can see it, too, with SmackDown struggling to sell tickets for multiple pay-per-views recently, including Backlash and Battleground. But now, Cena is back, and we're headed toward SummerSlam, when interest in the WWE product tends to increase, assuming WWE can give the fans something interesting to watch, that is. As of late, it has felt like SmackDown is just coasting by with lackluster storylines and poorly booked feuds that have made the show a far cry from it was even just a few months ago, when it was widely thought to be WWE's best show. What needs to change? Well, of course, it all stars with the booking, and Battleground gives WWE a chance to get that booking back on track.
